Reid is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (June 2026) from The Academy of Clinical Hypnotherapy and has also received certification in Past Life Regression Hypnotherapy with Mary Lee LaBay. She has been certified in Dementia: The Journey by the Dementia: Understanding the Journey Society and Health Association Nova Scotia. She is also a certified End of Life Doula with The International Doulagivers Institute and has paired this with the Death, Dying and Bereavement certificate from Laurier’s Faculty of Social Work Professional Development program.

Reid has a passion for working with caregivers to those living with dementia and/or the dying. Reid has been moved to this work from experiences throughout her life such as directly caring for her own family members, to working in nursing homes and hospitals, and then in the homes of families with elder care and the dying.

In this last role, she understood there is a current gap in the healthcare system lacking support and education for caregivers who are managing the well-being of loved ones at home which moved Reid to begin and develop Next Chapter Doulaworks, providing direct support to families. Whether this support be in making the difficult decision to move their loved one to a community nursing home or how to navigate the dying experience without hospital management, Reid is devoted to empowering and advocating for the caregiver, their loved one, and their families.

With hands-on experience and varied education, she has made an effort to bring one-on-one coaching to the caregiver role, holding space for them to talk freely about their struggles, frustrations, and grief, while also providing a platform to problem solve and educate themselves about self-care and planning for what comes next on their journey and the ones they are caring for.

Reid is excited to bring hypnotherapy to this work to further empower caregivers and the dying with techniques to assist in pain relief, relaxation, and better sleep, while overall building resilience, confidence and inner harmony.
